CARBOFEX PYROLYSIS TECHNOLOGY

The continuous pyrolysis unit utilizes biomass to high degree. The unique, controlled pyrolysis technique allows usage of variety of raw material and precisely controlled carbonisation.

Temperature and the residence time can be accurately adjusted so the resulting biochar is of uniform quality.

Carbofex Hiedanranta Plant on operation since 2017

This specific unit carbonises 400-500 kg of wood chip per hour, which in turn, produces 100-140 kg of biochar. With optional electrostatic oil separator the system can produce 90-100 litre of high quality pyrolysis oil. Running at full capacity, the facility can produce 700 tons of biochar and 600 tons of oil per year.

Carbofex Hiedanranta facility also runs a 1 MW district heating plant as part of a municipal heating network.

3000 TON ANNUAL CO2/CARBON SEQUESTRATION

For every 1 kg Biochar produced the plant captures 3,5 kg of athmospheric CO2 in to long-term storage in the ground.
